Barry Cohen, a watch industry veteran, came across a Swiss self-powered illumination system and knew that it would make watches more visible and easier to read in low or no light situations.
Vulcain
Founded in 1858 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Maurice Ditisheim, a talented watch-maker in the craft of complication movements, Vulcain developed rapidly, earning an impressive array of distinctions as early as in the 19th century. But it was in 1947 that Vulcain left an indelible imprint on horological history with the legendary Cricket alarm.
